6. Atlanta Hawks – Tyrese Haliburton, G, Iowa State
As far as NBA-ready guards are concerned, aside from Anthony Edwards, there might not be a player ready to contribute than Tyrese Haliburton in the top 10. With that said, there’s no question that his ceiling isn’t as high as a LaMelo Ball. Haliburton has the potential to be a two-way asset for a team that already has an established star like the Atlanta Hawks.
Coming off a season in which he averaged 15 points, seven assists, and six rebounds on 50 percent shooting from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range, there isn’t much not to like about Haliburton as a prospect. Haliburton can be a lead guard but would benefit from a team that has a star player in the backcourt already.
If any team is expecting Haliburton to be a star from the moment he steps on an NBA court, that may be flawed thinking. That doesn’t mean he won’t be valuable in the top 10. He’d be an ideal fit for the Hawks.
