New York Knicks options for 27th pick

Isaiah Stewart, PF, 6’9, 250 lbs, Washington

A crafty forward that provides big bruiser minutes, Stewart is an option I don’t see linked to the Knicks very often but might just fit. With uncertainty around Bobby Portis and Taj Gibson’s returns next year, the Knicks could use a 4 that can protect the paint and give Julius Randle a solid backup option. With a similar build to Randle, this move would be majorly for depth in the frontcourt.

Nico Mannion, PG, 6’3, 190 lbs, Arizona

If the Knicks decide to wait on a point guard until the 27th pick, I think the big likelihood would be taking Nico Mannion. Another son of a former player, Mannion is an ultimate floor general that runs the point with a high basketball I.Q. and ability to knock down threes at will.

Looked at as a Lottery talent for a long time, Mannion has fallen a bit on draft boards and could be a steal in the late first round.

Daniel Oturu, PF/C, 6’10, 240 lbs, Minnesota

The breakout sophomore this past year for the Gophers, Daniel Oturu is a scoring machine with a ton of NBA upside. While averaging 20 and 11 this past season, Oturu also swatted 2.5 blocks a game and shot 36.5 percent from behind the arc.

Basically a young mold of what Julius Randle already is, I’m a big fan of Oturu but I don’t think the Knicks take him in the late first unless a Randle trade occurs before draft day. If so, Oturu needs to jump to the top of the Knicks list.
