The wildcard: Tyrese Haliburton, G, Iowa State

The wildcard for the Golden State Warriors is none other than Tyrese Haliburton. He’s a name that I also believe will begin to climb up draft boards in the weeks and months leading up to the 2020 NBA Draft assuming he gets the opportunity to showcase his skills in pre-draft individual workouts.

Haliburton is a 6-foot-5 guard that has shown the ability to play both the on and off-guard positions. He’s long and has the capability of being a plus defender in the NBA. Haliburton is making the jump to the NBA after averaging 15 points, seven assists, and six rebounds per game. on 50 percent shooting from the field and 42 percent shooting from 3-point range.

As he makes the transition, there might not be a team more equipped to handle his learning curve (if one exists). Haliburton could either play off the bench in stints as the lead guard or even play as the backup two-guard next to Stephen Curry if needed.

Drafting Haliburton with the No. 2 pick would be a huge wildcard in the 2020 NBA Draft. But if the Warriors like him at that spot, who’s going to second-guess their decision-making?
