NBA Mock Draft 8.0: LaMelo Ball falls to Hornets; Bulls make a splash at No. 4
15. Orlando Magic – Theo Maledon, G, France
The Orlando Magic need to hit on a star player in the 2020 NBA Draft. With that said, it’s almost impossible to do so with the 15th pick. Taking a chance on a prospect like Theo Maledon, who somewhat of an unknown, could favor Orlando’s position.
Maledon represents a bit of a risk, but he has all the tools to be a really good player in the NBA if he develops as many project him to.
16. Portland Trail Blazers – Devin Vassell, F, Florida State
By the time the 2020 NBA Draft comes around, there’s going to be a chance that Devin Vassell won’t be available outside the lottery. He’s a prototypical wing player in the modern NBA and shot 42 percent from 3-point range during his sophomore season. If he can carry that into the NBA, there’s no question he can find a role for a very long time.
With the unknown that awaits the Blazers during the offseason, Vassell is the type of pick that could play a role sooner rather than later. And his potential makes him that much more appealing as a prospect.
