8. New York Knicks – Cole Anthony, G, North Carolina

It’s a shame that the New York Knicks actually fell two spots in the NBA Draft Lottery (and didn’t move up), but they still should be able to address the point guard position with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. At this point, it would take a bit of a risk but adding Cole Anthony could make a lot of sense.

Depending on how pre-draft workouts play out, Cole Anthony is a player that could be selected between the 7-8 range all the way through the end of the 20s. With that said, there is still plenty to like about his overall potential. He was a natural scorer in college even though he struggled with his shooting consistency. He averaged 18 points, along with six rebounds and four assists.

You’d want to see more natural playmaking ability, but the hope is that will come by playing alongside more talent in the NBA. Or that could be viewed as a warning sign. Either way, we’ll find out pretty soon.

The Knicks need to make a splash with their first-round pick. With LaMelo Ball off the board, Cole Anthony might be the next best pick.
