Blake Griffin, Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons seem like they are in full rebuild mode and if this is the case Blake Griffin could be on the open market. Griffin could be a realistic addition to give the Nets some extra star power in Brooklyn. Griffin could offer a lot to the Nets.

Griffin is a multidimensional power forward that has really developed his game into quite the offensive force from his previous rim running game in LA. Griffin has added a decent jump shot and the ability to drive off the dribble to his offensive arsenal. He could give the Nets an extra big who can get their own shot and plays well in the pick and roll game. Also, it’s a plus that rebounds well and would add to the Nets size on defense.

The biggest question mark with Griffin is his health. He has been sidelined with injuries the past few seasons. He missed some time in his only playoff stint in Detroit with a knee injury and missed most of the season this year. This could scare off a team like Brooklyn with his injury past and the fact he is owed around $75 million in the next two seasons with one of those being a player option. It’s a risk but if Griffin could stay healthy it could turn the Nets into legit contenders.
