The New York Knicks have the potential to make a splash this offseason

The last number of years have not been kind to the once idolized New York Knicks. A franchise steeped in history, the Mecca of basketball over the past decade has been reduced to rubble.

There is plenty of blame to go around. While one of the main causes of the terrible times the Knicks have had remains (he who must not be named), there is a completely new infrastructure that might just allow one of the premier franchises in professional sports to come back with a vengeance.

In Tom Thibodeau, the New York Knicks have a battle-tested head coach who knows what he is doing, knows what he is about, and is capable of turning this team’s fortunes around.

In Leon Rose as president of basketball operations, the New York Knicks have one of the most powerful agents in the NBA as there leader. Throughout his career as an agent, Rose has seen it all and as the Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka and Golden State Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Meyers, there is a blueprint for success.

Alongside Scott Perry, William “Worldwide Wes” Wesley, Frank Zanin, and Walt Perrin, the New York Knicks have built an exciting front office.

Having brought in a good coach, a potentially great front office, now it is time to focus on the product on the court. New York loves their stars, maybe this new front office could gift them one this offseason.

We explore three potential trade packages that could land the New York Knicks a big-name during the 2020 offseason.
