Because of the salary cap, there might be more added to this deal to make it work according to the CBA. However, a core package of Mitchell Robinson to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for LaMelo Ball (the No. 2 overall pick) and Eric Paschall should be something that both teams entertain.
The Warriors will be looking to bounce back in a huge way during the 2020-21 season and wouldn’t benefit initially from selecting a player that may or may not be ready to contribute right away. That could push them toward potentially moving the No. 2 overall pick. That could open the door for the Warriors.
Interestingly enough, even if Golden State does make a selection in the draft it’ll likely come in the way of a big man. The Knicks could offer a big man that has already proven he’s a difference-maker in the NBA in Mitchell Robinson with the Knicks getting potentially the new face of their franchise and a real second building block to stick next to RJ Barrett.
Hey, it could work. That doesn’t mean I would want to see a lineup of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, and Mitchell Robinson. Talk about unfair.
