NBA Mock Draft 9.0: LaMelo Ball falls out of the top 3; Knicks snag Obi Toppin
15. Orlando Magic – Tyrese Maxey, G, Kentucky
The Orlando Magic need depth in the backcourt, that’s quite certain. They could use a starting point guard for the future, but that simply isn’t viable with the No. 15 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Adding an intriguing guard talent like Tyrese Maxey, though, could be the next best option for Orlando.
Maxey could end up being another Kentucky guard that is a better pro than a collegiate player, if so Orlando landing Maxey at No. 15 would be a huge win. This is not to say that he will translate to be the next Devin Booker or even Tyler Herro but he could be a really good player at the next level.
Maxey is coming off a freshman season in which he averaged 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists on 43 percent shooting from the field. He was a bit of a streaky shooter in college and needs to improve there the most. He could end up being a really good offensive player with the Magic.
