NBA Mock Draft 9.0: LaMelo Ball falls out of the top 3; Knicks snag Obi Toppin
7. Detroit Pistons – Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn
The Detroit Pistons would love if one of the unanimous three of four prospects would fall to them at No. 7, but having a player like Isaac Okoro still on the board when it’s their turn to pick is quite the consolation prize. Okoro might not be a headlining name from the 2020 NBA Draft, but he has plenty to like as a prospect.
Coming off a season in which he averaged 13 points and four rebounds per game on 52 percent shooting from the field during his freshman season at Auburn, Okoro is a strong, athletic wing that will likely be able to play multiple positions at the NBA level. Many also consider him to be the best two-way player in the top 10.
There are concerns about his ability to hit the 3-point shot on a consistent basis – he only shot 24 percent from deep in college. Though, with NBA coaching and simple progression, there’s hope that he’ll be able to turn that around when it makes it into the league.
Okoro at No. 7 could end up being the biggest steal in the top 10.
