The Boston Celtics have too many weapons for the Heat to cover

After an impressive defensive showing against the Milwaukee Bucks, many will be expecting the Heat to try and lock down a single threat on the Boston Celtics. There’s one big problem with that possible game plan or idea. And it’s that the Celtics have more than one true threat on the offensive end.

Unlike the Bucks, the Celtics have four players that can burn you – in the way of scoring 30 points – on any given night. How are the Heat supposed to shut down Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart simultaneously? Short term answer: they can’t. Miami will have to focus on one of two players and then will have to hope their overall team defense will be enough to hold up on the backend.

Miami won’t be able to shut down the Celtics offensive and will have to hope that Boston can’t shut down the Heat’s point of attack on the other end. The Celtics have too many weapons and can beat you a myriad of ways. Brad Stevens knows this and you better bet that he’s going to take advantage of this truth.
