Giannis Antetokounmpo starts doing weird stuff on social media

For a player that is still under contract, and that doesn’t have much short-term power, the social media game is something that we’ve seen time and time again. In the old days, players would turn to the press to help make things messy but in the modern game, making a mess (or doing weird stuff) on social media is much more efficient.

While I don’t know if unfollowing every is the start of this (mostly because I’m not sure if this is a normal offseason thing for Giannis or not), but there’s no question that it should come across as a warning sign. What could the next step look like for Giannis? Well, it could come in the way of following random players on other teams – for example, a Stephen Curry or Bam Adebayo (players that are on two teams very interesting in the Giannis sweepstakes).

It could also come in the way of “liking” or “commenting” posts. Again, we’ve seen players use this strategy in the past. I can’t stress this enough – Giannis knows exactly what the social media game is. NBA players use it all the time. If Giannis starts doing some weird, out of character things on social media, that’s a bad sign for the Bucks and his future in Milwaukee.
