Bucks don’t offer extension/Giannis Antetokounmpo declines it

We should be put on high alert if during the offseason we don’t hear a report about the Milwaukee Bucks offering the super-max extension. If we don’t hear that any report at all, that should be a huge warning sign. Because that could indicate a few things, most notably that the Bucks and Giannis aren’t on speaking terms. Or are in a place where Giannis hasn’t sat down to meet with management.

At the same rate, if it’s reported that Giannis “rejects or declines” it, that could also suggest that Giannis is done in Milwaukee. If Giannis wants a future with the franchise, I don’t think he’ll “reject or decline” the extension. He may not sign it and the reporting would be that he wants to wait until next summer to maximize his earning powering or something along those lines. It will be pivoted in a way where it doesn’t come across looking bad for Milwaukee. Or in a way where it doesn’t sound like he doesn’t want to re-sign with Milwaukee.

Of course, that could lead to the Bucks potentially listening to potential trade offers for the superstar (depending on the feeling that the team is getting). However, as we all know, if it comes to that, it’s a foregone conclusion in that case.

The Milwaukee Bucks are going to do everything they can do this offseason to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo around. Though, as is often the case in the NBA, this is really going to come down to the player. In the end, what does he want to do?
