NBA: 4 teams who should be interested in a potential Russell Westbrook trade

In the event that the Detroit Pistons want to throw a wrench in the Eastern Conference, they could elect to perhaps make a Blake Griffin for Russell Westbrook swap or even try to trade for Westbrook outright and pair him with Blake to give this team one more run at making the playoffs next season.

The Pistons are a place where Westbrook could come in and play a major role that is needed. Apart from Blake, the Pistons don’t really have a strong playmaker on the roster (apologies to Derrick Rose). He could come in and soak up some of the offensive load that is squarely on the shoulders of Blake.

Plus, they could always use a star player that could help with fandom (and the spotlight). I’m not sure if any moves would be done this offseason with the idea of more ticket sales in mind (considering there’s no way in knowing if fans will be allowed in arenas next season), but you could make that case too.
