3 big concerns for the Miami Heat heading into Game 4 vs. Boston

The Miami Heat may still hold a 2-1 series lead over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, but through the first three games, there are plenty of trends that should bring comfort for Boston fans heading into an all-important Game 4.

During Game 3 specifically, the Celtics led from wire-to-wire and led by 20-plus points. Boston disrupted Miami’s well-oiled offense and held them to just 27 percent shooting from 3-point range. At one point in the game, the Heat had missed 15 straight 3’s.

While plenty of that could be attributed to Boston’s excellent defense, you can’t help but feel like Miami missing did play some sort of role. Nevertheless, Miami played one of its worst overall games in the NBA’s restart in Game 3 and will need to step up in a big way in order to regain command of the Eastern Conference Finals.

For the Heat, being up 3-1 is a whole lot different from the series being tied up at 2-2 heading into Game 5. The expectation is that the Boston Celtics will try to pick up where they left off in Game 4 and hope some of that momentum carries over into Game 5. For the Heat, they’ll have to scrap their game plan and try to adjust accordingly.

What could that entail? Who knows, but there might not be a head coach more equipped for this moment than Erik Spoelstra. Heading into Game 4, here are three concerns that Spo will have to address for the Miami Heat to bounce back.
