The Philadelphia 76ers are the best fit for Tyronn Lue

After a disappointing yet prolonged pit stop with the LA Clippers for the 2019-20 season, Tyronn Lue is ready to resume his career as a head coach as his name has resurfaced on the wish list for multiple NBA teams looking for new head coaches. Among teams who may have a potential interest in Lue’s services, the most interesting and possibly best landing spot for the NBA champion coach is the Philadelphia 76ers.

In Philly, Lue would have two young potentially top 10 NBA talents in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Embiid is just hitting the beginning of his prime and if the 76ers can figure out a way to keep him healthy, he has the potential to become an all-time great at the center position.

In Simmons, you have a player that can legitimately play positions 1 through 4 in today’s NBA game where it has truly become a game of position by name only. This era of the NBA has produced more players capable of playing multiple positions than any other time in the history of the NBA, and Simmons is surely on that list.

Simmons, who is only 24 years old, hasn’t entered his prime as of yet and is still growing and developing as a player. If Lue goes to Philly it will no doubt be under the conditions that Ben Simmons will be sticking around for a while.

There have been many trade rumors surrounding both Simmons and Embiid but it will be hard to let go of that type of young talent knowing you most likely won’t receive an equal haul of loot in return.

One would have to think that Lue would come in and want to work with Simmons especially seeing how Lue was a point guard himself. Although he was not a star NBA guard, Lue had a solid career as a back-up on championship teams for the Lakers. Lue also brings the experience of dealing with mega-star NBA players and their egos as well.

After all, he did coach the “Drama King” LeBron James during his second stint for the Cleveland Cavaliers and coached that team to an NBA championship in 2016 against that 73-win Warriors team. That same Cavs team had another star in point guard Kyrie Irving who is known as being quite eccentric in the eyes of many around the league and within the NBA media.

So, dealing with stars the caliber of Simmons and Emiid should be little to no problem for Lue after his three years spent in Cleveland.

Plus, Lue is more than likely becoming antsy at the opportunity to prove to everyone that not only is he a good and deserving head coach but that he didn’t just ride LeBron’s coattails to a championship and three straight Eastern Conference Finals victories.

For coach Lue, Philly will be his best fit and best opportunity to show the league that he can in fact coach and manage big-name talent, along with keeping the ship from capsizing.

Next. Philadelphia 76ers: Jrue Holiday would be a great trade target. dark

This presumably shortened NBA off-season should be quite interesting and involve plenty of movement on the coaching front as well as among some top NBA talent as well.
