The third option
We all know what Murray and Jokic can do on a game-to-game basis, but sometimes teams just need that third player who can give them that push which could be a determining factor in the outcome of a game, or better yet, a series.
While the Nuggets have a good team overall, the player with the most potential to make his presence felt is Jerami Grant. With the threat of Murray and Jokic scoring almost every time they are on the offensive end of the floor, they are going to draw double-teams as opposing defenses gravitate towards them.
That often leaves Grant with a mismatch or at least a favorable matchup as that was the Nuggets’ recipe for success in Game 3. Grant shot an efficient 7-11 scoring a career playoff-high of 26 points while also guarding both LeBron James and Anthony Davis denying them the ball and keeping them in front of him.
Grant came out aggressive on the offensive end looking to score whenever he got the opportunity and that is what the Nuggets will need going forward from him if they plan to win this series.
