NBA Finals Takeaway No. 2: White hot Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers shot 15-38 (39.5 percent) from 3-point range in Game 1, it was their fifth-highest percentage and their third most makes from behind the arc in the postseason. Los Angeles started the game red-hot from deep, and at one point were 7-12 from 3-point range, which helped them get off to a big lead.

The Lakers hot-shooting is a big development for the Lake Show, if they maintain such a prolific shooting clip, they could shoot their way right to the chip. If the Lakers get a dominating LeBron James and Anthony Davis, along with red-hot shooting, there aren’t many teams that could keep up with Los Angeles.

The Miami Heat was the very example of that. If Los Angeles can keep up their hot-shooting, that’s bad news for the Heat’s chances in this series.

As a side note, the last time Dwight Howard was in the NBA Finals, he was the starting center for the Orlando Magic. Tonight he was the starting center for the Lakers who are of course playing in Orlando, kinda funny how things turn out sometimes.
