A few adjustments that the Miami Heat can make heading into Game 2 of the NBA Finals

The Los Angeles Lakers came into the 2020 NBA Finals as heavy favorites against the Eastern Conference champions Miami Heat. The Heat entered the playoffs as a No. 5 seed and earned their spot in the Finals as many did not expect them to accomplish this level of success so soon but here they are.

As we all watched the Heat’s performance in Game 1, it’s evident that they have their hands full and have much to work on between now and the next game. They will have to come up with new strategies fast if they are going to even compete in this series.

The Heat came out aggressive to begin the game as Jimmy Butler scored nine points in the first quarter while keeping LeBron James on his heels and making work on the defensive end as the Heat went on a 13-0 run putting them up by double-digits.

That lead soon evaporated and before we knew it, the Heat was facing a 15-point deficit going into halftime. As they plan to bounce back in Game 2, head coach Erik Spoelstra must go back to the drawing board and make the necessary adjustments as many factors played a part in what went wrong in the Game 1 defeat.
