14. Boston Celtics – Cole Anthony, G, North Carolina
As one of the bigger names in the 2020 NBA Draft, it would be somewhat surprising to see Cole Anthony fall out of the draft lottery. Even though there’s a good chance that could end up happening, I’m not entirely sure to jump to that conclusion just yet. Thus, with the final pick in the lottery, I expect the Celtics to take a shot on Anthony if he’s available.
Anthony has proven to be a streaky – and sometimes dangerous – scorer. That’s something that will attract teams to take him in the lottery. Though, he also has shown promise as a potential playmaker in the NBA. If he can continue to prove that, there’s no question that he could emerge as a draft-day steal.
And should he land to the Celtics, it would be a huge misstep for the rest of the league. Cole Anthony learning behind Kemba Walker and the myriad of young talent that Boston already has on its roster would be huge for him as a developmental prospect.
He’d be in a great franchise and one a team where he wouldn’t have a ton of pressure on him to perform immediately. It’d be an ideal position for Cole Anthony.
