NBA Mock Draft: Warriors trade No. 2 for Myles Turner; Knicks take a versatile big
4. Chicago Bulls – Deni Avdija, F, Maccabi Tel Aviv
Deni Avdija is slated to become the first Israeli to become a lottery pick in the NBA Draft, and he’s a player that will not disappoint. If a team is looking for a high ceiling, low-risk type of prospect, there might not be a better nominee than Deni.
Even though he’s far from a finished product, he has the ability that should have teams eyeing him in the top 5. Avdija is a 6-foot-9 forward that will be able to play multiple positions at the NBA level (assuming his defense is up to par when he makes the move to the league). Avdija can shoot, distribute, and rebound.
The best part about drafting him is that no one really knows what his ceiling consists of or how high it will be when his development as a basketball player is all said and done. He might need time to properly find his footing in the NBA, but if there’s a team that could help him make that transition, it’s the young Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls, with a new head coach, could be making some changes to its roster this offseason. Adding Deni Avdija could give this team a new look heading into next season.
