7. Detroit Pistons – Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn

With the seventh pick in the draft, there are a number of ways the Detroit Pistons can go. However, Isaac Okoro might be the best selection for the Pistons in this spot. They could take a big but they need help in the backcourt and at the wing position.

Barring some sort of trade during the offseason, Blake Griffin will still be the focal point of the offense next season. When he’s healthy, he’s been really good for this team. The problem is that he hasn’t been all that healthy during his tenure with the Pistons. While Okoro won’t be considered a lethal offense of player when he makes his debut in the NBA, he has the talent and potential to emerge as one in the not so distant future.

Where Okoro will make his hay early on in his career is on the defensive side of the ball. Many consider Okoro to be the best wing defender in this draft class. If he can be that for the Pistons, and just an above-average offense of player initially, there’s no question that he will be a good pick and a good fit for Detroit.
