4 trade packages for the Minnesota Timberwolves to consider

Heading into the 2020 NBA Draft (which is scheduled to take place November 18), there might not be a team that holds more power and influence than the Minnesota Timberwolves. They will likely shape the way the draft will unfold and can make a huge splash at the start of the draft by possibly trading the pick if they so elect to.

In fact, according to ESPN (subscription required), the Wolves testing the trade market for the No. 1 overall pick. While this is not to say that Minnesota is 100 percent trading the pick, and perhaps this is more the Wolves exploring the possibility, the fact that this is even in play will make the 2020 NBA Draft even more exciting and unpredictable.

The Wolves believe they have a solid core in D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. Perhaps adding another solid player or two via the No. 1 overall pick would go a long way in the Wolves breaking into playoff contention in the Western Conference.

In that case, it could be worth moving the pick. However, it’d have to be for the right player(s) for it to work and for the team to not receive ridicule. Which players and deals would fit that mold?

We explore four potential trade packages that could make trading the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft worthwhile for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
