NBA Mock Draft: James Wiseman jumps to No. 1; Knicks surprise at No. 8
10. Phoenix Suns – Devin Vassell, F, Florida State
While the Phoenix Suns would like to grab a point guard with the 10th pick in the draft, there simply isn’t one that is worth taking at this point. Instead, they’ll take a chance on a multifaceted player such as Devin Vassell, a 6-foot-7 sophomore guard/forward wing player out of Florida State.
During his sophomore season, Vassell showed the ability to be a good 3-and-D player at the next level. With his size and versatility on the defense, there’s a good chance that he’ll be able to play all over the floor in the NBA.
During his sophomore season at Florida State, Vassell shot 49 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range. If he can be a consistent 3-point shooter at the NBA level,l there’s no question that he’ll be able to play a role for the Phoenix Suns in 2021. I’m not sure if he’ll ever develop into a star per se, but he’d be a solid pick at No. 10.
