5. Cleveland Cavaliers – Onyeka Okongwu, C, USC

With the fifth pick in the NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers will select Onyeka Okongwu. This is a big man that many have circled on their draft boards. His potential is through the roof and has even drawn comparisons to current NBA star Bam Adebayo.

During his freshman season at USC, Okongwu averaged 19 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks per 36 minutes. He has the potential to be one of the most versatile defenders to emerge from this draft and will be able to play both the power forward and center positions in the NBA. Even though his offense still leaves much to be desired, it’s his athleticism and defensive ability that will be able to find him a role on an NBA roster sooner rather than later.

If he can reach his potential, there is a really good chance that he could be the next star big man in the NBA. He’s everything you want from the modern big.
