The Philadelphia 76ers must add depth to the roster

The 76ers must add quality players this offseason, particularly  veterans with plenty of playoff experience. The 76ers could upgrade the backup point guard position as they hardly had any production from that spot. No one could fill the shoes of Simmons when he suffered a season-ending injury just before the playoffs began.

There are plenty of options on the free-agent market as Jeff Teague, Brandon Knight, Jordan Clarkson, DJ Augustin, Shabazz Napier and Michael Carter-Williams would all be good coming off the bench in a backup role.

Rajon Rondo would also be an ideal fit, but he is likely to have many suitors and command a hefty salary after his performance in the NBA Finals. The 76ers should also consider signing at least two big men in free agency. Available players who could fit are Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors, Serge Ibaka, Marcus, and Markieff Morris, and Sixth Man of the Year winner Montrezl Harrell who would fit perfectly starting opposite Embiid at the power forward position considering his physical style of play and the fact that he is already familiar with Rivers scheme and playbook after his stint with the coach in Los Angeles.

The 76ers don’t have any first-round draft selections but they do own four picks in the second round and could add some developmental pieces and maybe find a gem or two if they are fortunate enough.
