The Philadelphia 76ers need to ignore the trade rumors

No matter what other teams may offer or how many times critics say that Simmons and Embiid would be better off without one another, the 76ers would be out of their minds to give in to such foolishness.

This duo should be deemed as untouchable and viewed as the franchise’s greatest assets. Most teams would love to have a dynamic duo as great as Simmons and Embiid as they aren’t too far from reaching their potential. The duo has won at least 65 percent of the games they have played together and if Simmons would have been healthy during the playoffs, it might have been a different outcome for the 76ers.

That’s just how important his presence is on the floor. Embiid is 26 and Simmons is only 24 and if the front office can provide a sufficient supporting cast, the 76ers should be in championship contention for years to come. The biggest concern about Embiid and Simmons is their ability to remain healthy, especially during the playoffs.

Embiid missed his first two seasons as he struggled with foot injuries and has continued to be plagued by injuries throughout the last three seasons but nothing serious enough to keep him out for extended periods of time.

Injury problems or not, the Philadelphia 76ers would benefit more by keeping both of these elite players as they move forward and continue to “trust the process.”
