NBA Draft Rumors: LaMelo Ball falling down draft boards?
The 2020 NBA Draft may not have many big names at the top of the board and there might not be a bigger name than LaMelo Ball. Despite being the most popular name on the board, he’s far from the unanimous best player in the draft. With that said, the expectation is that they’ll be selected in the top 3.
Short of something crazy – and unexpected – taking place on draft night. Or in the days leading up to the NBA Draft. That could be happening before our eyes. According to a recent report, Ball isn’t exactly blowing teams away during his pre-draft interviews.

"Here is what I’m hearing from the league at large: LaMelo Ball is not performing very well at job interviews. I’ve heard that from multiple sources."
At the very least, this is an interesting revelation. I’m not sure if this is something that will dramatically change the draft or the way it falls on draft night, but this is certainly an interesting tidbit to keep an eye on.
Ball is one of the most polarizing prospects in this draft and it would still be extremely surprising to fall beyond the third or fourth pick in this draft. That said, if Ball continues to disappoint in the pre-draft process, I don’t think a free fall on draft night (perhaps to the end of the top 10) isn’t something that should be discounted.
Ball has a high ceiling but certainly comes with his fair share amount of risk. Despite these reports, I still have a hard time believing that there won’t be a team selecting in the top 4 that wouldn’t be willing to take the risk on LaMelo Ball.
As a prospect, there is plenty to like about his game – he has great size, has shown the ability to be both a dynamic scorer and playmaker, and has superstar potential.
LaMelo Ball falling down draft boards is something to keep an eye on, but I have my doubts.
