Would a hypothetical trade for James Harden work for the Golden State Warriors?

After the longest season in NBA history, some respite was expected after the NBA Finals, but for anyone who truly knows basketball, they are fully aware that the NBA is a 24/7, 365 days a year sport that does not relent in any way, shape, or fashion.

Mere days after the NBA Finals had concluded, rumors and speculation began to percolate across the NBA. Whether it was Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers or the Milwaukee Bucks, Russell Westbrook to the New York Knicks, or Bradley Beal to the Brooklyn Nets, the news cycle never stops.

One particular bit of speculation that caught many people’s attention was a potential James Harden trade (even more so after Daryl Morey left the Rockets). Interestingly enough, it went even further as speculation arose whether James Harden would work on the Golden State Warriors.

At any normal period of time, no collection of assets that the Warriors could offer (other than 2-time MVP Steph Curry) would be sufficient in prying Harden from the Houston Rockets grasp.

But we are not in normal times.

The Warriors are now the proud owners of the second overall pick in the NBA draft, an asset that gives them leverage to potentially make a huge move this offseason. Could that huge move be for James Harden? Well, let’s see if it is even possible.
