It’s already been reported that the Atlanta Hawks will be interested in potentially moving their No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft for a star veteran that could help this team make a run towards the playoffs next season.

Piggybacking off that thought, it would make sense for a team like the Hawks to pursue a player like Gordon Hayward – should they not be able to land a bigger fish on the trade market this offseason. Playing next to Trae Young, Hayward will be able to be a second or third option on the offensive end while also playing a vital role in playmaking.

Hayward has experience where this team lacks and would be able to provide depth that the Mavs simply haven’t had over the last two seasons. Even though the Hawks were considered underachievers this past season, the future for this team is bright and Gordon Hayward could emerge as the piece that helps this team make the jump towards the playoffs.
