11. San Antonio Spurs – RJ Hampton, G, New Zealand

Picking at No. 11, the San Antonio Spurs will have a bevy of options. Considering that they’re somewhat on the verge of a full-blown rebuild, any player that the team decides to select should help in some way. Taking a prospect with the highest ceiling available might be the play here for San Antonio.

RJ Hampton could be an interesting fit. He was a big name coming out of high school but then somewhat disappeared after somewhat of a disappointing year with New Zealand. His jumper was concerning and he didn’t pop as some expected him to overseas.

He has helped rebuild his reputation in pre-draft workouts and in pre-draft interviews, but I don’t think there’s any clear indication of where he’ll be taken. The good news is that it only takes one team to be interested. Knowing the Spurs, they have to believe they could help any prospect blossom.

RJ Hampton could be the next developmental project for San Antonio.
