NBA Mock Draft: Boston Celtics trade into top 10; Deni Avdija jumps to No. 1
17. Minnesota Timberwolves – Jalen Smith, C, Maryland
Jalen Smith is an interesting frontcourt prospect that could rise into the NBA Draft Lottery depending on how the next couple of weeks go. Smith is a big that has the ability to protect the rim and stretch the defense with his 3-point shooting ability.
Smith averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game on 54 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range. If he can duplicate those shooting numbers in the NBA, there’s no question he’ll be able to find a home.
18. Dallas Mavericks – Saddiq Bey, F, Villanova
Saddiq Bey falling to the Dallas Mavericks at No. 18 would be an absolute steal. The Mavs could use some added shooting next to Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis and Bey would be the ideal candidate.
At 6-foot-8, Bey is coming off a season in which he 16 points and five rebounds on an astonishing 45 percent shooting from 3-point range. If he falls to 18, there are more than a few teams that made a big mistake.
