29. Toronto Raptors – Vernon Carey Jr., C, Duke

I have no sense of what the Toronto Raptors are going to do heading into the offseason, but assuming that they re-sign Fred VanVleet there’s a good chance that they won’t be able to retain both Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka. In that case, drafting a player such as Vernon Carey Jr. makes sense.

Even though the NBA is moving away from the traditional big man, Carey might just be too talent of a player to let fall out of the first round of the draft.

30. Boston Celtics – Tyler Bey, F, Colorado

After taking Onyeka Okongwu with the No. 6 overall pick (via trade), expect the Celtics to try and replenish the well of their depth by taking a flier on Tyler Bey, a 6-foot-7 forward out of Colorado. Bey might not jump off the screen when watching his tape, but there is plenty to like about his potential and versatility.

Bey averaged 14 points and nine rebounds on 53 percent shooting from the field. He also shot 41 percent from 3-point range on an extremely small sample size.
