5. Cleveland Cavaliers – Obi Toppin, F, Dayton

With the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, despite their depth at the position already (depending on what the team elects to do with Tristan Thompson), I fully expect the Cleveland Cavaliers to take a big.

The way the draft board has fallen, Obi Toppin happens to be the best player still available and I believe that’s the route that Cleveland will take. Toppin may not be as sexy of a name as some of the other prospects taken in the top five, but he was extremely productive during his second season with Dayton.

Toppin averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists on 39 percent shooting from 3-point range. He has great athleticism and is a good finisher around the rim. He’s the type of player that you simply plug-in from the opening tip and one you could pencil into the rotation almost immediately after being drafted.
