8. New York Knicks – Tyrese Haliburton, G, Iowa State

It’s a shame that the Detroit Pistons are picking ahead of the New York Knicks because they could really use a flashy point guard. However, with both LaMelo Ball and Killian Hayes off the board, the Knicks should take Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton is a talented offensive player and has potential on the defensive end of the floor due to his great size and length. It’s his 3-point shooter that has NBA teams enamored with his potential. Haliburton is coming off a season in which he averaged 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists on 50 percent shooting from the floor and 42 percent shooting from 3-point range.

If he can come along and continue to grow into his frame and develop on the defensive side of the floor, there’s no question that Haliburton has the potential to be a special player for a very long time in the NBA. Tyrese Haliburton may not be the star that the Knicks were hoping to land in this draft, but he’ll be a productive player for this team.
