Atlanta Hawks

I love all the possibility the Atlanta Hawks have this offseason, with enough cap space to feed a small town and the (slight) pressure to perform next season (read: at least look like you could make the playoffs), they might look to add more established players this season.

In my opinion, adding veteran talent on top of Clint Capela and Jeff Teague who was mid-season acquisitions would be foolish. The point of a rebuild is to try and find as many young stars are you can before filling out the roster with championship-caliber players, so far, the only All-Star-level young player they have is Trae Young.

But if they want to part ways with the sixth pick in this upcoming draft, looking to add more present value, Jrue would look great.

For all the aforementioned reasons, Jrue would be great as another ball-handler/off-ball player next to Trae but would bring much-needed defensive acumen to a Hawks team that was starving for it.

It’d important to note that Capela never suited up for Atlanta and he will be adding to that side of the ball as well, it’s just a shame we never got to see it.

Giving up the sixth pick for a rebuilding franchise might be a steep price to ask, is there a deal that sees NOLA and Atlanta swap their sixth and 13th picks as well as Jrue and back to the Pels.

It might be foolish for the Hawks to give up on Cam Reddish after a strong finish to the season but as soon as you go down the line in terms of Hawks prospects that aren’t Reddish or De’Andre Hunter, it gets a bit eerie. All the more reason to convert their draft pick into another potential rotation player.
