Los Angeles Lakers

What are the Lakers doing here? They just won an NBA championship.

I’ve included them in this list because, despite just watching an entire Finals run, I don’t believe Playoff Rondo can do it again. I’m willing to cop a lot of flak from Lakers fans, it’s actually a strange hill for me to die on but adding Jrue gives the Lakers a more stable playmaking and shooting guard at either position.

Imagine how terrorizing the defense would be with Jrue, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis in the lineup. They could literally grab two fans out from courtside (if fans are allowed) and put them at the 2 and 4 spots and they’d still hold the opponent to under 100 points.

Danny Green’s salary would be the main thing getting sent back on top of Kyle Kuzma and the Lakers 28th first-round pick in this year’s draft.

I guess New Orleans does it if they want to complete their collection of former Lakers draft picks but they might’ve done themselves a service in the AD trade getting Josh Hart instead of Kuzma. They could even fully complete the set by signing Ryan Kelly for a laugh.

Again, Rondo literally just did everything Jrue can do and won a ring doing it, the shallowest take in the world would be: he just did it, he can do it again.

Side note: when I say that, I mean he did it in the playoffs, not the regular season.
