With a jam-packed NBA offseason on the horizon, there has been no shortage of news in recent days. The rumor mill is swirling; names like Jrue Holiday, Chris Paul, Victor Oladipo have featured prominently. Let’s dust off the old trade machine (oh, how I missed you) and throw out some potential deals that teams across the league should consider.

The Philadelphia 76ers dump Al Horford

For the Philadelphia 76ers, they clear themselves of Horford’s contract (three years, $81 million remaining, with the final season partially guaranteed) while not taking back any long-term salary. Thybulle and the picks are ultimately lower-upside assets that won’t change the course of the franchise.

Porter is an elite catch-and-shoot player (42.9% on 3’s from 2017 to 2019) on the wing who helps the Sixers make more sense on the floor. Arcidiacono fills the T.J. McConnell role as the “white backup point-guard” (though he can actually shoot beyond 12 feet) and helps them buy back some good-will with the fan-base as a local kid.

On the Bulls side, they get a Kris Dunn replacement in Thybulle as a defensive havoc-wreaker on the perimeter. It may be difficult for Horford to rehabilitate his value playing in another crowded frontcourt, but at the very least he could serve as a mentor to a prospect often compared to him in Wendell Carter Jr.
