Indiana Pacers
Trade target: Gordon Hayward
If the whispers are true that Gordon Hayward would indeed be open to moving on from the Boston Celtics, the Indiana Pacers should immediately be interested. While the Pacers are navigating through their own trade rumors, regarding Victor Oladipo, Hayward is exactly what this team could be missing.
Hayward is still extremely productive at this point in his career even though he’s no longer able to carry an offense. He’s a good enough defender and is an underrated playmaker. He could play off the bench or start for the Pacers too, he’s played in both roles for the Celtics over the last couple of seasons.
Hayward would be a good gamble considering he’d likely be acquired as a rental and if doesn’t work out, both the Pacers and Hayward could elect to part ways next offseason. Plus, acquiring Hayward likely wouldn’t cost the Pacers more than perhaps a draft pick.
