Trade target: Gordon Hayward

For a team like the Memphis Grizzlies that is fresh off a near-playoff appearance, adding a productive veteran player could be their best bet this offseason. A player that could come in and start while the team’s young talent continues to develop at a comfortable pace.

One potential fit, whether if it’s for a long-term deal or a rental, is Gordon Hayward. Coming off a season in which he averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game on a career-high 50 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range, it’s quite clear that Hayward still has the capability to be a No. 2 or 3 option on a good team.

Hayward could be the veteran to help bridge the gap to Justise Winslow growing into his role with the Grizzlies. Memphis missed a player like Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala in the NBA restart last season. Hayward could help address those losses.
