Trade target: Andre Drummond

As we witnessed in the NBA’s restart bubble, the Portland Trail Blazers are always going to have a puncher’s chance with Damian Lillard. With the possibility of not re-signing Hassan Whiteside, Andre Drummond is a player that could emerge as a target for the Blazers.

Drummond is younger and flat-out a better player at this stage of his career than Whiteside. And that’s not a shot at Hassan; that’s OK. Especially if they can get Drummond on an expiring contract, there’s no question that Portland should explore this possibility.

Drummond would feast off playing next to both Lillard and CJ McCollum and could help the team’s depth in the frontcourt. This likely wouldn’t be something that is a long-term experiment but a move that could help this team compete with other playoff teams in the Western Conference. And if Lillard and McCollum get hot, you never know.
