NBA: One trade target for every team entering draft week and start of the 2020 offseason
Chicago Bulls
Trade target: De’Aaron Fox
Before we jump into this hypothetical, there hasn’t been any clear, substantial reports that the Sacramento Kings would even entertain the thought or idea of trading De’Aaron Fox. With that out of the way, targeting a player like Fox would make a ton of sense for the Chicago Bulls.
Knowing the Kings, I wouldn’t put it past them to think about this move. If you remember, this is a franchise that traded a prime DeMarcus Cousins. And while it’s somewhat a different regime, some franchises simply can’t get out of their own way. The Bulls need a point guard they could stick next to Zach LaVine and have plenty of young pieces they could offer in a hypothetical deal.
Plus, they also own the No. 4 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Would the Kings be interested in something like the No. 4 overall pick, Lauri Markkanen, and Otto Porter Jr. for Fox? I’m just spitballing here, but perhaps this is a move that the two teams should entertain – even more so if Sacramento isn’t sold on paying Fox a max extension.
