Trade target: Jrue Holiday

There might not be a team with a brighter future in the Western Conference than the Dallas Mavericks. While a big part of that is the rise and continued development of Luka Doncic, this team has a great coaching staff, developmental team, and has other nice young pieces (including Kristaps Porzingis).

Looking at the trade markets as a whole, there is not better fit on this roster than Jrue Holiday. He can play either guard positions, is a plus-defender, and is a good enough shooter. He’d be a great compliment to Doncic and Porzingis and is a player that Rick Carlisle would be able to push to the limit.

Short of throwing a myriad of draft picks at the Pelicans (and I’m not even sure that would appease them), I’m not sure if the Mavs have enough capital to pull of a deal. Which is a shame because a healthy trio of Luka, Kristaps, and Jrue could do some serious damage in the Western Conference.
