3. Charlotte Hornets – Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia

As much as the Charlotte Hornets need to address their center position and their depth along the frontcourt, Anthony Edwards falling to No. 3 is too good to pass up. Despite the questions about his game heading into the NBA, many view Edwards as the best prospect in this draft class.

For a team that has as many needs as the Hornets do, it would be smart for this team to take the best player available at No. 3. Edwards is a strong guard, has great size, and proved that he could be a reliable scorer. Depending on how he develops with the Hornets, there’s a chance that Edwards could emerge as a fundamental building block for Charlotte.

Edwards will make an immediate impact for the Hornets and will be in the running to win the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award in 2020-21. The Hornets shouldn’t get cute here and taking Anthony Edwards would be anything but that.
