Predicting where the top NBA free agents land ahead of the 2020-2021 season?

With the 2020-2021 NBA season gearing up to start rather quickly, the next couple of weeks will be huge for teams to put together squads for the upcoming season. With not only the NBA Draft set to take place on Wednesday, but free agency will also come very shortly behind it, set to open up on Friday.

Although this NBA free agency isn’t the most stacked we’ve seen in years past, there will be a few very interesting contract situations to look out for. Stars Anthony Davis, Gordon Hayward, Andre Drummond, and DeMar DeRozan all have player options ahead of the season that they can choose to exercise. Fred VanVleet will also reportedly be looking for the biggest contract, stating since he already won a championship he’s going to prioritize getting paid.

With about a month to take care of the NBA Draft, free agency, and training camp before the season is set to begin, the league is going to have to move super quick. In the shortest offseason of all-time, it’ll be very interesting to see how things play out and what teams decide to do regarding trades, the draft, and free agency signings.

Some important dates to remember for the hectic month leading up to the season will be as follows: NBA Draft on Wed, Nov.18, Free agency starts on Fri, Nov. 20 at 6:00 p.m., free agency signings start on Sun, Nov. 22 at 12:01 p.m., training camp begins on Dec. 1, and opening night on Dec. 22.

With everything that’s gearing up in the next few weeks, here are my predictions on how some of the top free-agent signings will play out.
