Prediction: three-years, $24 million with the Boston Celtics

Now, this seems like a long overdue match, as the Boston Celtics have been searching for a star big man for a long time. Although their rotation of Daniel Theis, Enes Kanter, and Robert Williams isn’t terrible, in my mind Whiteside has always seemed like the perfect fit to completely put together that Celtics’ squad.

An all-around force both offensively and defensively in the paint, Whiteside proved this past season in Portland that he’s still in his prime. Heading into his age-31 season, Hassan is more than capable of becoming the Celtics centerpiece in the paint.

Although this deal wouldn’t be the most lucrative contract, I think he might opt to sign with the Celtics rather than the Hornets, Kings, or Wizards where he’ll be less competitive but could make more money.
