Anthony Davis

Player option (Declined),

Prediction: three-year, $106 million with the Los Angeles Lakers

The first, and by far the biggest, name on the market this offseason is going to be NBA Champion, Anthony Davis. Davis currently has a $27m player option for next season with the Lakers and has been vocal about his choice to decline it and re-sign long-term with Los Angeles.

I feel like the biggest likelihood for Davis will be to sign a 2+1 year deal for multiple reasons. First off, a 3-year deal will bring Davis to the 10-year veteran hold and make him eligible for a super-max contract in a couple of years. The other reason being, that with LeBron James having two years left on his Lakers contract, Davis will have the option to opt-out and pursue free agency if LeBron decides to leave.

Regardless, there is no doubt Davis re-signs with the Lakers and most likely won’t consider any other option this offseason.
