NBA Draft Day prediction: Golden State pulls the trigger on James Wiseman

During the draft process, James Wiseman has been regarded in a somewhat diminished light as an NBA talent largely due to his limited sample size of the collegiate film. What he can do at the next level is run the floor at an effective rate, defend the rim with a lengthy wingspan, and adroitly crash the boards.

His offensive upside is evident within his game due to his agility and athleticism. The interior moves and offensive skillsets beyond the basket have the potential to manifest into consistency through solid player development.

Yet, during an era where Golden State will be in title contention for the foreseeable future, Wiseman will cement his skillset as an offensive asset in the half-court and transition. This will coincide with him serving as a solid deterrence defensively against the Western Conference’s elite big men.
