NBA Mock Draft: Warriors take James Wiseman; Knicks snag Patrick Williams
3. Charlotte Hornets – Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia
While there have been many reports of the Charlotte Hornets will be targeting a big man with the No. 3 pick in the NBA Draft, I have a hard time believing that this team is going to bypass a talent as great as Anthony Edwards. He could be taken No. 1 overall and has the potential to be the best player from this class.
Edwards is coming off a freshman season in which he averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game on 40 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent shooting from 3-point range. He is a great athlete and has drawn comparisons to Dwyane Wade.
The Hornets could worry about the fit later and figure out how Edwards will factor into the team’s future with Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham in the backcourt. The Hornets landing Anthony Edwards with the third overall pick would be considered a big win for the franchise.
