Best moves of the NBA Draft: RJ Hampton to Denver

It’s no secret that the Denver Nuggets are enamored by length. Their last few prospects they’ve drafted possess great length for their position, Michael Porter Jr. and Bol Bol. The Nuggets added more length to that list on draft night when they drafted RJ Hampton.

Hampton is a combo guard that excels at finishing at the rim and shows high IQ on cuts to the basket. Hampton doesn’t need the ball to be effective and that poses well with the core of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic.

Hampton also won’t have to play right away giving him time to develop the potential he has as a prospect. In a year or two Hampton could be a very useful piece for a team that has aspirations of contending for a title.
